Includes all sorts of 19th century musings, including a passage on Fowler's Phrenology, horse racing, making cow bells, railroad adventures and much more. Large section of spiritual songs in rear. Green cloth covers over leather binding with gilt decoration on spine and front cover. Book shows heavy wear; leather spine chipping and split along hinges, cloth covers worn through at edges and frayed, binding shaken but holding firm. Foxing and soil to textblock. 4 x 6 inches. Second edition.
